Project Planning
As a local development corporation, the TTDC has established working relationships with town officials, town departments, property owners and individual businesses which can help you save time and money in your planning process. We have also gathered an array of resources including aerial photographs, maps, lists of available property, and a database of companies already located in the town.
We are part of an economic development network which can tailor an assistance package to meet the needs of your project — large or small. The Erie County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) and the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) are two valuable partners in this network, offering programs and services from property tax abatements and direct financing to workforce training and infrastructure. Whether your company is already located in the Town or you are considering an expansion into our community, the TTDC can be a valuable partner in your planning process. Some questions we can answer with a phone call and a referral. Other questions may require research and intervention. In either case, we are at your service.
Information and Contacts
We also receive inquiries from companies looking for general information or contacts. Once again, we can put our relationships to work for you.
We helped a Mexican businessman find a local company, which led to the sale of thousands of product units. We helped a Canadian company locate a machine shop with the right combination of equipment and experience to make products for sale in the U.S. market. We provided demographic information to an out-of-state retail consultant researching potential markets on behalf of a client.

Leadership and Advocacy
The TTDC also serves as a leader and advocate on issues of importance to the local economic base, often contributing our local perspective on regional issues. We have spoken at Town Board hearings and provided testimony before county and state task forces on issues of importance to our constituency. We also maintain regular contact with elected officials at local, county, state and federal levels.
Our board of directors serves as one forum for policy issues — inviting guest speakers to monthly meetings for presentations and discussion. Technology allows us to survey other town-based companies on very short notice in response to quickly unfolding issues. We participate in several organizations where business interests may be represented: the Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce; the Budget Advisory Committee of the Ken-Ton School District; the Erie County Workforce Development Steering Committee, and; the Rotary Club of Kenmore.
