'BIO'
Bob was born and raised in the Town of Tonawanda, New York, a first-ring suburb of Buffalo. He received a B.S. degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from MIT in 1983 and completed coursework in Political Science and Urban Planning at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY-Buffalo), pursuing an interest in technology and public policy.
Bob's career in economic development began in 1986 as a research assistant at the Center for Regional Studies at SUNY-Buffalo where he participated in several studies of the Western New York industrial base. In 1988, he became director of a New York State Economic Development Zone located in Lackawanna, New York, coordinating projects from strategic planning and infrastructure development to marketing and business services.
Since 1992, Bob has served as Executive Director of the Town of Tonawanda Development Corporation (TTDC), expanding the agency's traditional economic development role to include such new initiatives as an industry consortium on childcare and development of the Town of Tonawanda website. He authored the town’s application for the Empire Zone program and, upon designation in 2001, added the title and duties of ‘Zone Director’. |
