Airports--The Buffalo-Niagara International Airport and the Niagara Falls International Airport are both located within a 15 mile drive from the Town of Tonawanda.
Bridges-- The Town of Tonawanda lies midway between two international bridge crossings--the Peace Bridge in the City of Buffalo to the south and the Queenston-Lewsiton Bridge in Lewiston, NY to the north). The South Grand Island Bridges are located in the town, providing a link to the island, Niagara Falls and Canada.
Highway--The Town of Tonawanda is fortunate to have excellent highway access. Many of the town's prime industrial areas are located near the juncture of the I-190 and the I-290, providing convenient access to the City of Buffalo to the south, Niagara Falls and Canada to the north, and the New York State Thruway (I-90) to the east.
Public transportation-- The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) provides bus service along several routes through the town, including routes through the industrial corridor.
Rail road--CSX provides rail transportation to companies located in the Town of Tonawanda. A mainline runs parallel to Military Road from south to north through the Town. The Kenmore Yards provides a staging area for several large users, including General Motors, DuPont, Dunlop and the NRG Huntley Station.
Water-- The Niagara River forms the western boundary of the Town of Tonawanda, providing access for commercial vessels via the Tonawanda Channel. Existing dock facilities are located at the Huntley Station (coal deliveries) , NOCO (fuel) and United Refining (fuel). Niagara River World--a 60-acre site with docking access --offers opportunities for new projects, including intermodal facilities.
