Text Box: The Empire Zone Administrative Board has made it known that one of the most important aspects of the EZ Program is the creation of new jobs, accessible to residents of Sheridan Parkside.  One major component to improving job accessibility has been centralizing emText Box: ployment resources in the Parkside Village Community Building.
Job openings in certified Zone companies are posted in the Parkside Library.  Educational and  training opportunities and professional development services are being posted in the library and on a bulletin board by the Community Building’s front entrance adjacent to the Auditorium.
The library was chosen by the Zone Board to become a focal point of employment service based on factors including: 1) access to eight computers, including six with internet access 2) access to printed materials, and, 3) proximity to Zone residents.
The computers can be used to search Text Box: jobs through  the Department of Labor website, WNY jobs, Buffalo Niagara Jobs, and other employment search sites.  Additionally, the computers have resume and cover letter software and one can save their work on disks available at the library for $1. 
Perhaps the most important resource the library offers is the helpful, trained librarians available to assist job seekers.
“Oftentimes it is either a lack of specific skills training or awareness of job opportunities that keeps people unemployed or underemployed.  We are trying to address both of those issues through the Zone Plan and efforts in the Community Building’ said Town Supervisor and EZAB Chairman Ron Moline.

Text Box: The innovative and highly successful Home Ownership for Parkside’s Enhancement (H.O.P.E.) Program received an additional boost with the designation of the Tonawanda Empire Zone.
The HOPE program entails the purchase and demolition of old, dilapidated multi-family units in the Sheridan Parkside Village Courts, which are replaced by affordable single-family homes.  The homes are offered at discounted rates to low-income individuals and families.  The Empire Zone has helped to make these
